I cried thrice while watching the film. First was when the movie started with the Circle Of Life. Second, when Mufasa died(HUGE SPOILER) Third, during Can You Feel The Love Tonight. Nostalgia hits you hard if you were a child when you watched this movie. However the movie was slower at parts compared to the original feature. And the movie was SO DARK. Not the story, several scenes, especially the ones at night. I don't know if Disney was trying to save money by desaturating the movie severely. I know they were night scenes, but oh GOD I wanted to see what's happening. Faithful adaptation, literally scene to scene including the panning shots. And the increased number of hyenas justified the severely waning population of Pride Rock, compared to merely three. My verdict is around 7/10. Seriously, the lighting killed the aesthetic. I never thought I'd look at the phone during this movie. That's the lowest.
