From the creators of Dark, Tribes of Europa is an incredible show with a riveting plot, great cast, and extensive world-building which truly immerses viewers into an entirely new conception of the world. Though it isn't based on any book, the continent of Europa (Europe) possesses rich new cultures intertwined with complex geopolitics set in a dystopian post-apocalyptic future. There's so much potential for this show to go further to uncover its mysteries and develop on the three main characters that are at the heart of the driving forces behind this epic world. Netflix wouldn't dare to cancel this series.
EDIT:
Another notable thing about the series is its multi-lingual nature with about 2/3 of it in German and the other 1/3 in English (some characters only speak English, others are bilingual). It makes sense in the context of the story as the setting is in what was Germany but the English broadens the scope of the storytelling in a more realistic way when interacting with characters who aren't German. I caught a bit of Spanish at the end as well (probably a teaser for what is to come in season 2).
It is only 6 episodes long so it's easy to binge-watch but the length of the season compared to the scale of the show does mean that this season is more of an introduction into the story, which sets up for a lot more to come. With that said, it is still a well-rounded narrative with a logical story arch for each of the main protagonists with Elja on his cube adventure, Kiano learning to survive in Brahtok, and Liv determinedly working to save her family.
Whether it be love, death, or betrayal, there are a lot of realistic aspects of the show that highlight how great it is. A lot of things can be unpredictable and sometimes even questionable but that's what gives it its authentic charm.
