I can't stress enough how good this show is at giving every character value. a character comes along and I would think "Oh ok cool, it's gonna be this stereotypical character that I've seen in shows all the time, I know exactly what to expect from this character." and then it turns out that they get way more screen time that I expect and have their own personality and backstory that just makes the whole show so much richer. no character is brought in carelessly. they all have incredibly fleshed out storylines and the show stays true to those characters values and never cuts corners for the sake of drama or keeping things interesting, it happens naturally. the show isn't just about Ted, like I expected, and even every player on the team has incredibly deep and very well explored personalities, which i absolutely did not expect. I thought that they, and many of the other side characters, would be very generic and uninteresting like in a lot of other shows, and it was so very pleasantly surprised to find that, and I can't express this enough, EVERY SINGLE CHARECTER has a unique personality that is carefully picked for their role in the story, and I find that level of care extremely commendable. this is only one of the many many MANY reasons why I adore this show so much, but it's definitely my favourite thing about it.

ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE Finished it about 5 minutes ago after a week of binge watching and honestly this is one of the most addicting shows I've ever seen, I just couldn't stop watching. Michael Sheen's is one of my favourite actors, and his and Lizzy's performances were just absolutely incredible. I will admit the start of season 3 had a bit of a rough patch, but overall worth it in the end I cannot recommend this show enough.
