Old fashioned? Maybe ... just as a Christmas movie should be. One of the best, most uplifting movies I've seen in years. Incredible cast. Great message for kids. Fun music. Every family should watch this at Christmas.

Awful ... absolutely awful. The script was sophomoric with "clues" piled one on top of another, most of them meaningless. The big issues similarly just came one after another, but with no mature understanding. The violence and sex turned out to have no actual meaning. The plot ... well, there wasn't any ... just a mishmash of the kinds of scenes a high school student would write into a play in order to make it "deep". A truly terrible, depressing, dull movie.
