The movie was uneven with overwrought illogical motivations of the plot and characters. There were no established logical motivations for the stupid acts of the characters. Is as if the town was all high, drunk, or hallucinating all at the same time. Even the director said he hated the movie! The black folks were caricatures...And Robert Redford hardly looked like a runaway prisoner in the woods with his makeup on so perfect...

This movie has no grace! I feel I could get a few friends together and a high-powered camera and in a couple of weeks make a better movie. This IS NOT Hitchcockian, it is amateur hour. I want to like Perry but he disrespects his native black audience with this shoddy product. Black people deserve better. The plotlines are absurd. For instance, the idea of sending an elderly woman to a bloody murder scene makes no sense. The cinematography is pedestrian, the art direction shoddy and indeed it looks like the movie was made in a week's time! This is not even up to the standard of a made for TV movie. Come on Perry, put your ego down and get some professional and experienced writers and directors and start making quality movies people can be proud of!
