Despite all the nostalgia, I must talk about how broken and unpolished this game currently is. When you first boot it up or perhaps after a few matches, you'll notice the predator in the main menu screen is replaced by a headless grey body with no texture. It's happened frequently enough to make me question why it isn't brought up more in other reviews I read. My next issue is with the matchmaking. Be prepared to wait 5 to 15 minutes for a match if you have no preferences, and it's anyone's guess how long you'll wait if you want to play as predator. However, even if you make it into a lobby, there's the risk of disconnecting from the host, the match not starting after the briefing ends, going solo because everyone else disconnected or playing without a predator in the lobby because they disconnected or bugged out in a tree somewhere. If you want to play this game on PC, it's an Epic exclusive. If that doesn't bother you, then knowing that the other half of the community on console can turn off crossplay and further add to that aforementioned matchmaking time. The community is split three ways: Those who only play with PC players, those who only play with console players, and those who are actually willing to crossplay. Now as for the gameplay itself, it's very clunky, and the options for weapon attachments are extremely limited. It's a very fun game when you can look past this however, but for how long will you be able to do that? EDIT: With the release of patch 1.05, matchmaking has been optimized and I since have yet to have a wait time over 5 minutes. This doesn't fix the issue of occassionally entering a lobby with predator/fireteam members missing, but it's a vast improvement over what we had at launch.

This is a game that encourages you to face your fears of the deep dark depths of an alien ocean world; and really rewards you for doing so. I played this on a PS4 Pro, and the issue I have with it is stability. Frame rates can drop to 20 or less in certain biomes, and draw distance is short enough that you can have things spawn right in front of you; especially if you're in a vehicle. Despite it's bugs, this game kept me interested throughout and actually had a story behind it, unlike most survival games.

I played Stellaris on a PS4 Pro with all DLC, and I don't recommend playing without them or at least Utopia as it tremendously adds to the depth of empire building. Though it may seem overwhelming at first, you will have plenty of time to learn the systems because Stellaris is an extremely long game. One single player game may take you many hours, depending on galaxy size. Speaking of which, the large galaxies with 600+ star systems did give the PS4 Pro some trouble with frame rate, especially when there are so many planets and ships in the game. I've had no such issue on small 150-star sized galaxies. There is a plethora of options for what you want to be in Stellaris, particularly because of the aforementioned Utopia DLC. Space combat is simple and straightforward, but leaves alot to be desired. Because the weapons and defenses counter eachother in a "rock, paper, scissors" system, it's imperative to know what your opponent is running with... but you can't. There's no espionage system in Stellaris, and that's probably the main drawback it has. Wars usually occur in one single giant space battle, and because it takes so much time to build a fleet, the loser of that battle will go on to lose the whole war. Ground combat is even less complicated, as there isn't any tactics involved whatsoever. The focus in Stellaris is empire building and diplomacy. Technology and exploration is interesting too, but after finishing your first game you would've experienced most of the events that take place by then. If you can accept that, you may like this game.

A species of blind, carnivorous bats that somehow survived trapped in a cave for thousands of years without sunlight or a viable food source is unleashed on the northeastern seaboard. Despite warnings to stay indoors and be quiet, the family of characters unanimously decide to get out of town. Ironically, when things get desperate they're forced to seek shelter... in a house. Don't worry, there's hope though, because they soon learn these bat-like creatures that evolved in the cold darkness of an underground cave actually can't handle the... cold? The movie needed a more believable antagonist though, so it turned to a group of tongue-cutting religious fanatics for it's last gasp before sending the characters northward to safety. What a predictable ending, and if this wasn't bad enough it teased at a potential sequel. No thanks.

It is everything that Fallout 4 pretends to be. I'll leave you with that, just go try it for yourself.
