Let me say first that I have read all the Les Norton books & they were great reading!! I was also raised on the Downs & spent a lot of time on Stations in Western Queensland so rubbed shoulders with Country Folk, Jackaroos & Station Hands etc. I was looking forward to this programme hoping it would be a refreshing dose of the old Aussie expressions etc. For me it lacks sincerity, there’s something missing from Les’s Character & while the Actor looks the part either he or the Script Writer hasn’t captured that true Aussie Jackaroo/Country Boy spirit.
