Ok, so basically, first of all, I just want you to know that I only watched the first five episodes that's after reading the first two books of the series, and so these two things can like affect what I think of the show bc like compared to the book this is trash, literally trash. It's probably because I had a certain expectation in mind while reading, and this show was completely ruined it. I also read some reviews that said the first few episodes are bad but then it gets better, so I thought I would say my opinion at the beginning of the show then I will see if that changes. So, anyways: Ok, this show so far is the most cringe, cliche, badly-written, and produced show I have ever watched. It's too cringe, the lines are written in a very cliche and annoyingly unrealistic way like someone would be dying and clary will just sit there like "I can't lose you, you're all I have, i can't lose you, don't leave me". LIKE SHE SAID THAT LINE TEN BILLION TIMES, and it's always the exact same as if she's a robot or smth. Then omg Jace is just like akfjd fiaadsk on the show, Jace is meant to be a very chill and stoic, sarcastic character who rarely expresses any strong emotions but in the show, he is the exact opposite, he gets angry so fast, he is trying too hard, he is like literally a popular troublemaker boy wannabe. Like no, just NO, Jace is meant to be very chill and just have that natural, effortless handsomeness, here it is literally so obvious that he likes Clary when Jace should be able to hide his feelings expertly. IT GENUINELY MAKES ME ANGRY JACE IS MY FAVOURITE CHARACTER IN THE BOOK BUT THE MOST CHARACTER I HATE IN THE SHOW. I already wrote too much but I could write way more about every single character and how the show just literally flips their personality upside down, srsly it's so annoying, why do producers feel the need to change a book so much when adapting it into a series. Ok, now in general this show sucks and I am only watching it bc of how fun it is to criticize it, it's awfully produced and the editing is just awful.
