Where do you start with Star Trek? A pioneering idea of true genius, beautifully realised with a groundbreaking international cast telling some of the purest high quality science fiction. Beautifully filmed on 35mm (or half of.?) it makes The Next Generation look an awful, flat and low resolution. There are of course always variation in quality of story telling and Shatner can become overwhelming with ham on occasion, but at its best it is the finest scifi series ever produced. I can't be bothered with any of the Trek that came after, they all bore me in comparison.
