#Review of #ShubhMangalZyadaSavdhan Homosexuality is a sensitive issue. It is such a sensitive subject that we people still don't discuss it in open. Also I have seen Hansal Mehta's 'Aligarh' and Ang Lee's 'Brokeback Mountain' which are sheer masterpieces but tackles the issue in it's most seriousness. Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhan on the other hand tackles the issue or rather I would say 'The Mentality' with a rib tickling script, hilarious punchline and impeccable coming timing. So here is my honest review: 1. Ayushmann Khurrana is on a roll these days and his screen presence is amazing. The whole career of this actor is based on scripts that others would have refused/not dared to do. Some major brownie points for the actor to pull off this kind of role. Jitendra Kumar (Jeetu Bhaiya from 'Kota Factory') has played his part well and the character never went over the top 2. Director has not wasted any time in introducing the characters and the movie starts right away. Script is tight and screenplay is perfect. The run time is 2 hours and this is one of the USP of the movie. 3. Maanvi Gagroo (TVF Pitchers and Tripling) is a revelation. The girl can act on big screen too and brings a lot of positivity to the whole star cast. Neena Gupta and Gajraj Singh are impeccable hands down and their coming timings are top notch. 4. Songs were not necessary in this kind of story but then, you got to entertain the masses too. Music is a big let down even when 'Gabru' is rocking the charts. 5. The movie often goes bit preachy but you will hardly notice it. The dialogues are hilarious and scenes are not stretched way too much. Hence they have retained the essence of the script. So I m going with ⭐⭐⭐⭐ for this one. This is one of those movies which dare to touch a subject which is still considered 'Taboo' in our society! It's a movie which is not just about discovering ones 'Sexuality'. I wish it has got a 'U/A' certificate instead of 'A' because it will jolt your mind for good!!
