This movie felt like a ramped-up version of "Halloween 2" (1981). After "Halloween" (2018) resuscitated the franchise in an entertaining fashion, "Halloween Kills" relied more on increased gore, and a rather large body count, but produced few scares and just seemed like a jumbled mess. Unfortunately, Jamie Lee Curtis was given little to do throughout the film, and had very little impact on the story. Some characters were reintroduced to the audience, and brought along their backstories. However, with the exception of seemingly preaching a message to the audience about the dangers of mob-mentality, "Halloween Kills" mostly features Michael Myers effortlessly racking up more victims.
