"Unordinary extraordinary depicted"
"I say what I say"
-- no spoilers --
A Film in it's own category!
Indulgently Selfie!
Visionary!
Be prepared to be frustrated and tested!
A Swingers only Narrative.
A cinematography of art deco, psychedelicism, surrealism, abstractcism, classicism and realism,
"Can you dig it? Baby?"
Coppola decides when and how He depicts this multilayered, multidimensional, multilinear processions of film work.
The metaphors and existentials present themselves and exit like lightning flashes in the sky,
leaving the audience stunned and mentally grip-less on how to take it all in or how to take it all.
Without film vocabulary,
this can be a table of confusing spices thrown at a viewer and therefore unpalatable...
However, Coppola is showing or telling you what he exactly sees.
Life is a series of dreams and thought,
bridging the sane and hallucinatory,
both can be meditative and maddening.
The Brilliance of this work is that the characters are portraying their worlds as well as the director portraying his.
Each voice is given its individually stressed supremacy,
this gives everyone the position of being right.
This in turn makes the film beginning middle end process logically impossible.
-- viewers will be disturbed, lol! --
Then what is the Point.
The Film is about the Rise of Power.
The key is Power.
Whoever wins.
They get the Power.
And their story is "The Story".
Rarely do we see the competition competing.
Here we are giving all the competitors, all at once, without favorites.
The wealthy, the banks, the organized criminals, the artists, the influencer, the mobs, the religionists
...all vie to shape, control and determine a Republic now and forever built in their Image.
The Cinematography: Every type of stunning visual is presented.
Futuristic, Avant-garde, Subculture, and Mainstream, and Psychedelic.
Rolling wobbly tiles bubbling,
Head narcotic nodding,
Demolition dusty streets
Wealthy arenas of proper and the improper
Soft supple hard unforgiving sublime blatant and chameleonistic
Shines Bright like A Diamond
It's saturated saturation.
Coppola's Cosmos!
Don't miss out to see a genius work.
Don't listen, just go and be confused, disturbed, unsettled, unresolved
This is a sophisticated work
Everything you see is presented with decision and purpose
An open ended philosophical film
Finally, a work presented by a director to please himself only,
and if you're pleased or not it doesn't matter. Just don't go expecting to be pleased.
It maybe for you or it maybe not,
However,
Coppola can indulgently say,
"I said what I said"
In this case that's all that matters
Go "See what you see"
5/5 - a goat's arrows always hits its mark
10/10 - love and power is always complicated
Aside: I see a lot of people walked out as if their opinions matter, good for them. These "thinkers" probably are mostly made of logical thought waves. That a man is a man and a woman is a woman.
However and whatever, because in reality a man is half woman.
All men are half woman.
Their DNA dictate this fiat!
Men are "X & Y"! not "YY"
Women are "X & X"
Morale:
so walking out doesn't change a thing because you don't get it.
Men embrace your "X" side, it's there whether you like it or not. Your half woman, no escaping it. When you see women, just say, half of that is me!
And you will be as right as rain☔
Cheers!
