This movie is kind of a remorseful reminder of the greatness that could have been realized had the last Jedi not shattered the community and the idea of a right and wrong Star Wars. This being said, this movie still takes plenty of risks that end up feeling very like Star Wars should which is why I think this movie will feel at home in the community. It also has extraordinary visuals, which contributes to the darker tone that this film embraces which is something I think was a great choice on Abrams’s part. It retains the goofy, go lucky marvel aspects displayed in the last Jedi but throws in sci fi horror elements like something out of Alien or the Cthulhu mythos. Overall this is a great movie, and a good STAR WARS movie. Definitely a good watch if you were disappointed with VIII and want to see a new opinion on where this series could have gone.
