Pleasantly surprising even on a second watch, it's not just the Captain (Vigo Mortensen) who is fantastic here. A beautiful blend of thought provoking ideas and perspectives on society along with overwhelming emotions on love and family, If ever were we to use the term "hidden gem" for a movie it's Captain Fantastic we would use it for.

It is a modern gem. And no I am not exaggerating. The storytelling is absolutely brilliant and the range of emotions it touches in its short running time is really unbelievable. Take a bow Mamoru Hosoda. Can write so much more on this!
