Please, just don’t see this. It’s not a faithful recreation. You might be saying “well, the point is to appeal to a new generation!” But the thing is that the original still holds up. So just see the original!

When I heard there would be no songs, no comic relief, and that it would be a more adult take on the original, I was exited. Sure, I was a bit sad we wouldn’t get I’ll make a man out of you and I personally though the live action movies were some of the worst movies I had ever seen (by that I mean theatrical releases, not food fight) but I thought it could work. I will never be fooled again. Without even comparing this to the original, this does not hold up. Not only is it still inaccurate to the legend of Mulan, we don’t feel anything as a watcher. If Mulan herself has these Chi powers, why do we need to root for her? We know she can do anything, there is nothing to strive for, nothing to accomplish! We don’t feel anything. Please, don’t watch this. There are worse problems, but I don’t want to write an essay.
