I love a movie that is all cinema! The quiet drama of a man doing anything to survive on the open ocean is so intense especially because I am a sailor. However; I would have liked a bit of back story. This guy was totally unprepared and inept! Who solo sails without knowledge of a sexton or for that matter being prepared for absofinginglute disaster on the open ocean!? Plus it was somewhat curious that Tom Hanks was rescued and Redford ignored by freighters!? No biggie to pop a pilot boat to rescue some poor slob. Just a word to the wise. ALWAYS bring some starboard or 1/4 presealed ply and drywall screws to seal up your stove in hull. Aside from all that great movie! Loved it! Redford was fantastice!
