I was so excited for these games and preordered as soon as it was available to. But upon playing I was very disappointed, you feel constantly rushed to move on to the next objective and restricted as to where you can go until you have triggered another cringe cut scene. I don't feel like I'm having an adventure at all, I'm not free to explore the game like the previous ones and you're constantly shoved onto the next objective. Mechanics are fun and reflect alot of the classic games, developers got lazy with some of the animations in my opinion though. I much prefer Let's Go, although it used Pokemon Go's catch system and was very short in terms of story, you could actually explore the game. No unnecessary cutscenes and objectives in order to progress, you just get out there and explore. A real letdown for the series in my opinion, I doubt there is much replay value here.
