A gripping and watchable thriller (though far too much use of the "f" word) helped by an excellent cast and unusual plot. If revenge is a dish best served cold then it is also one best served involving ghosts! Very satisfying to watch an abuser get their comeuppance in such a satisfying way - and, in a different way, that includes the man on the station. What is so powerful is the damage and loss that abuse leads to. A second series is likely especially as there are a few loose ends left dangling. Very strong and effective stuff.

Very flashy, very violent, very sweary comedy caper. The book is much, much better than this brainless drivel.

Started off a bit dubious about this new Bidding Room cast-off antiques/vintage daytime show but have grown into it, helped by the idyllic Provence setting and interesting brocante markets. The dealers rub along very well with each other and it all adds up to good entertainment. The main takeout from the show - apart from the relentlessly good weather in the south of France - is that interactive social media is the way to sell collectables these days. Hoping for a second series.

To make a decent film from the concept of a video game is not a gimme but this works a treat. A rollicking good adventure yarn laced with the right amount of comedy thanks to slick direction, impressive special effects and a great cast. Thoroughly enjoyable.

The first twenty minutes are quite watchable with the familiar roll call of apocalyptic events wiping out large dollops of human life on Earth. An alien spaceship hovering over the planet wreaks the havoc backed up by some tasty effects. Thereafter this film descends into a bizarre and disjointed mess as the alien "Others" infiltrate human beings dressed in military uniform. Only children acting as soldiers can apparently save the world and it goes without saying it's down to a couple of game teenagers to fend off Earthly takeover by a vastly better equipped alien force. A strong cast must have wondered what had hit them. "None of this makes any sense" says one of the child combatants. You can say that again. A teen tale of total tosh.

A tender and moving story of love and humanity set against the horror of the Japanese invasion of Malaysia. In the face of the cruelty and torment of their captors, the resilience and bravery of the British women and their young children as they are forced to trek hundreds of miles binds the film together in a truly inspiring way. It is a terrific war film, beautifully crafted and acted with panache and sensitivity. A real treat.

A typical M Night Shyalaman film: curious, intriguing and unsatisfactory. It sets out to be deep and meaningful but the fragmented direction and implausibly polar characters make it too messy to be enjoyable. It is strange, as in strangely watchable.

The concept is interesting and should produce an exciting game show but the whole thing feels strangely flat. It is too drawn out and the flow is not helped by relentless advert breaks. Everything Ant and Dec touch turns into tv gold but they make for awkward hosts. Contestants winning half a million should pulsate with edge of the seat drama but instead it's a bit of a yawn. Except if you're the ones winning half a million, I suppose. Chucking in huge amounts of cash prizes doesn't necessarily make for a great quiz, and this is a case in point.

A wonderful ghost story dripping with atmosphere and wary suspension. The pace, the cinematography, the set, the direction are all top drawer bringing out the best in a strong cast. The twisty ending is a creepy masterclass. What a good film this is.

Absorbing thriller with a twisty plot that doesn't veer into disbelief. A terrific production buoyed by wonderful incidental music and a top notch cast who deliver each scene convincingly. This is very, very good.
