Aiden “Salem” Tompkins

Literally has some of the best gore of the series. Not a reboot, which the series has had too much of anyway. It is fresh and different enough from the original that it is worth watching and stays similar enough in the fine points of the series that this cannot be mistaken as something other than evil dead. Did I mention the gore?

The beginning feels very Edgar right, of course him having a lot of style, though it is toned down a lot, this only applies to the beginning but at times it feels like your watching an Edgar right movie in slow motion, that being said I did enjoy it a lot, I’d feel wrong giving it a 5 though due to the fact at times the “horror” felt off, at times it felt a little cheesy and other times it hit the mark 1:1. I did like the ending, though I do believe it would have been better if it had ended with the fire sene, and I feel the ending sene is only redeemed by its inclusion of Alexandria at the end, overall a good movie but I’d not start with it In terms of Edgar right films.
