The protagonist comes off as somewhat abrasive and hypocritical. I commend her for courageously freeing herself from a community that forced her to behave and think a way that made her feel "less than". However, she now forcibly imposes how she feels her married daughter and her husband should act, and diminishes her assistant Robert's business acumen by saying only by dating he will be fulfilled. It seems it's either her way or the highway.
