The screenplay of the film is a testament to the fact that a great production can truly be produced with minimal arrangements and without the profuse use of cinematic tools, and it proves just that with pure acting marvel and an intense suspense packed backdrop. Cheers to Joel Edgarton and Edward (playing Travis) for bringing in pure emotions to a rather simplistic story, coupled with the silence environment in the movie that makes this movie an interesting experience, which is rather uncommon these days. I truly enjoyed the movie mainly because of it's attention grabbing moments at each and every scene that would make your eyes glued to the screen during the entire run time. A must watch for the audience, espe6the cliffhanging ending.

The story lacks coherence and a proper motive that only tries to deliver the old proverbial 'Dante's circle of hell' concept through a series of confusingly mixed up string of events, all in the midst of which the real motive is lost. The ending is specially inexplicably strange and thereby leaves behind the real reason behind this movie's overall motive. Average standard.

A gory 'horror' genre sprinkled with quirky twists and a witchcraft essence. Old theme wrapped up in a new model. Good tryout.

A truly artistic masterpiece that's thought provoking when it comes to expressing the daunting state of mental confusion, dementia and the various detrimental stages of human emotions on the face of imminent end and solitude like frenzy, denial, acceptance of morbid fate, especially when death comes knocking on the door. The film also lucidly explores the devastating effects of the incipient mind of a child caused by the trauma as a result of unhealthy family incident, that eventually pervades into one's adult life, manifesting as a living curse and destroying every aspect of life and also how much sacrifice it takes to ultimately get one's life track back to normal mode. Director Flanagan never ceases to amaze us with his literary genius and he is especially a true master of direction when it comes to horror and thriller genres. Bravo..!!
