I picked this up a couple of times before committing to the purchase as the reviews are so mixed. In the end I took the plunge and I don't regret it. Black leopard, Red Wolf is certainly unique, the narrative is sometimes hard to follow but if you stick with it you will soon find yourself immersed. There are very graphic/raw moments throughout and this book doesn't apologise for it, personally I did find it a tad much and sometimes unnecessary. It makes GOT look like the Teletubbies and is most certainly post watershed material! Despite the the above I did enjoy it, the universe is built well with very diverse ideas and characters! I will be buying part 2 when it's released to see where the story goes!

Fantastic book, the definition of a page Turner! I'd recommend this for all. I was captivated by Spensa's journey and it never loses momentum. As a protagonist she is not typical but I still warmed to her. This is testament to Sanderson's fantastic story telling, other supporting characters have fantastic character arcs too, I can't wait to read the next one!
