Its been ages since a movie this brilliant and emotionally wrecking has come along… Masterpiece is a word that has been frivolously doled out for a lot of movies, but in essence is deserved by a few. SSE is one of those rare ones that truly deserve it. I don’t understand some of the 1 star and 2 stars review here. Movies are not the only source to go fishing for moral values. Your expectations that movies be a beacon of all things righteous and proper is infantile at best. Movies tell a story, and not all stories need have a perfect protagonist.

Watched the movie after reading the Betty’s biography. Goes to show how deep Islamic radicalization can penetrate and affect which even the highest level of modern education can’t fix. I urge people who have seen the movie to also read the book to get more details of the horrors Betty faced as a consequence of Islamic radicalization. Islamophobia “just” didn’t come to be…. There’s a good reason and accounts behind it.

They should have included figures from Christianity and Islam as well. But knowing how narrow minded the followers of these religions are they probably refrained. Regardless, an entertaining show.

You’ll probably see a lot of criticism in the review section for this movie based on how this movie was inspired by so many Hollywood movies (Captain America will be top on that list). But every SciFci plot’s success hinges on the concept of how realistic the imagined reality of that story is. If you were to compare Captain America with Arjun Shergill’s character, Arjun’s super soldier seems more realistic. He doesn’t have miraculous super strength from a magic potion like Captain America has but heightened awareness from an AI which seems more possible considering the current advances in neuroscience and AI. If you’re one of those self proclaimed western critiques of Indian origin that is willing to weigh all Indian cinema on the scale of Hollywood movies, I can predict your judgement. For me this movie had a solid plot and a great detail of imagined reality that a sci fi plot needs. Kudos to John and team. Looking forward to Part 2.

The plot collapses on itself as a bomber that claims to never hurt innocents to “my bad” to a finale where you expect the protagonist to do the right thing when he’s faced with final moment of truth to only kill himself along with other innocent commandos who were just doing their jobs. The stupidest ending to an over hyped movie. The movie deserves a one star but only giving it 2 because the build up was good.
