It feels breathtaking to watch beautiful amazing black love. Yes her parents lost each other, but to have experienced a type of love that you carry to your death bed is...rare or at least I've never heard of it. Yes it wasn't completely happy, but she did something so refreshing...she had courage to go out, and pursue her dream. That's just something young women like me (20yrs) need to be okay with. Yes it will come with regrets, that's the reality of every decision we make so why not do what your heart tells you to do in that moment! We shouldn't let societys' expectations of us be the louder voice in our heads. As Nomzamo Mbatha said "Dear Black Child Your Dreams Are Valid."
That's just what I took away from the movie (feels wrong to call it that),maybe someone else will see something else. All I know is that it was a privilege to watch it.
