Not sure why this movie gets all the negative critiques. It is a fun twist on the classic fairy tales of youth with a nice alternate ending and the fun of what would happen if Cinderella, Repunzel, Jack and the beanstalk and a few others all lived in the same town and interacted with each other. The acting is done well and does not overly bombard you with sing-talking. The casting is brilliant and each actor does a fantasitc job bringing life to their characters. It is a great modernization of the classic fairy tales, free of content that is questionable or adult in theme. You should have no concerns allowing your children to watch this film. And you may even enjoy it too.

The producers thought you could make up for no plot and bad acting by cramming the movie with great singers. It is filled with scenes that make no sense and little dialog. This is what happens when you smoke too much pot and write a screenplay. I rank this right up there with Xanadu as worse movies ever made. I don’t think anyone can say being in this movie helped their acting careers. But the music was good, so it has that going for it.
