Beautifully written. Great character development that was echoed in the vast desolation and beauty of a Scottish Island in the North Atlantic. Great story from beginning to end. Parallel narratives, one of a detective solving a mystery on the island of his birth and childhood, and of the detective as a child and teenager growing up. Both narratives were thrilling to read. I didn’t think the author could successfully produce a satisfying ending but he did!! Bravo!
