I grew up in the late 1960’s and 70’s and was always glued to the tv when Laurel and Hardy was on. To me they were simply the best of all the comedy duos and I still use some of their phrases when talking to people. This film was absolutely brilliant as it took me back to my childhood and has made me realise how much I miss them with their clever but never crude humour. It may have been a bit slow in places but it needed to be as that was part of their whole persona and where it was so clever is one almost felt that it really was them on that screen. As we walked out of the cinema my wife was shocked to see tears streaming down my face as I never cry in films but this one flicked a switch in me which I find hard to explain. A mixture of extreme happiness and sadness all at the time. Brilliant!
