If I'm honest, I didn't find the first half of the episode interesting. But I'm glad I didn't stop watching; the way the story picks up after that is incredible. It made me think as a viewer, and like everyone else, I got hooked. Films and TV shows aren't perfect, and so yes, there are some bits and pieces that I did question, but if you overlook all of the silly stuff and allow this show to take you on a ride, trust me, you won't regret it.

MUST WATCH!! The storyline of Thappad is actually an ongoing reality for most women who go through domestic abuse silently. However I am not saying only women experience domestic violence, men also are victims of domestic violence however there are higher percentage of women who do experience and report cases of domestic violence at home. As always Taapsee does not fail to showcase her acting skills as well as mentionable actress and actors played in the films also contribute to the success of this films. My favourite character was Geetika Vidya Ohlyan I did not even for a second think she was acting, she definitely portrayed the character very well. Directing is above average however I did pick on some errors as well as a little lag in storyline which could've been compensated through different shots that engage and by providing appropriate BGM, hence why only 4 stars. Overall is actually a good movie and is an important issue that even still people refuse to accept! And it's interesting that this film isn't really showing a hint of radical feminism through the main protagonist and is being acceptive and trying to protest for a change because violence is VIOLENCE and NO means NO. The people who have reviewed and has commented on the topic not the movie and given 1 rating based on the ISSUE raised in this film and those who have a narrow mind to think "one slap is okay", I guess now we know who the real monsters are, those who are stripping the rights, happiness and respect of those who experience domestic VIOLENCE anywhere, regardless of their culture, religion, gender, age> ANY SORT OF VIOLENCE IS NOT OKAY. PERIOD! EDIT : It's so sad to see that MEN are calling this film radical feminism because the protagonist had a choice to decide how she wants to live and away from feeling like a slave and away from ABUSE! 🙄

AMRUTHARAMAM was a sound film with an interesting climax; however, the film does fail to explain the logic in some scenes. The main actress Amitha gave justice to her character and is the main force that drives the movie to the end. It's lovely to see a female perspective in the south-Indian film. The cinematography in the movie is above average, considering it is a low budget film. The director Surendar has put in the effort to bring life to Amrutha and Ram; nevertheless, improvements do need to be made, which can only be attained through experience. Apart from the lead, everyone else played a part to connect with the audience. I was not a fan of the colour grading felt like it stripped the rawness away from each scene, and it exaggerated the movie too much. Even though the movie needs improvement, there are memorable shots you will fall in love with especially with Amrutha and Ram. This review is my honest opinion after watching the movie. If you would like to articulate your thoughts on this movie you should watch the film. Good effort by the entire team 👏 Apart from this I enjoyed the movie. Watch it on Zee5
