Ryan Stadtfeld

A sterling first half, followed by an utter refusal to pay off on anything I cared about. By the three-quarters mark, I realize this is really two books checkerboarded together, and far more of the story could benefit from greater integration of the looming threat/evolution of the Andes/Draggers. 3/5 because the first half and middle was so excellent. Last 150 pages felt like a book I didn't come here for. The last 30 pages felt like a non ending.
