I would like to ask Sharon Easley if she has ever actually been on a jury. I have been on several, none of which was decided in the first 15-20 minutes. Sometimes we found the person guilty, sometimes not, and, of course, some were only about how much the person would get. One case I was on involved $1.25 worth of milk and we were there until after 7:00 deliberating.I am very impressed with the jury system and the way jurors act. Even those that tried to get out of jury duty, once they're actually on a jury, try very hard to do the right thing. Lawyers always think they know a lot about how a jury acts, but unless they've actually been on some, they don't. I'll give you a hint, though -- the main drive behind the jury's verdict is one person who is very sure what the verdict should be, and able to persuade the other jurors.
