The show brings forth into discussion a great deal of complicated subjects. Nevertheless, it could be called one of the greatest shows ever because of how beautifully the bond of friendship has taken precedence. It tells us to refrain from bullying, to understand that there are always multiple sides to a story, to take it as important to help others. More importantly, the show points out the interrelationship between teens, their parents and guardians, the teachers, classmates, the society and how these relationships are to be improved to ensure the safety of teenagers during their emotionally-challenging years.
The characters in this series have evolved and developed through each season. Amazingly, almost all characters, towards the beginning of the show, were against Clay. Clay hunted them down, made them acknowledge their mistakes, extracted an apology from them, took revenge in favor of Hannah and pressured them to reveal their secrets. However, as the show advances, hostility among Clay and the group recedes and the bond of their friendship is stronger than ever.
I cried heavily in the last episode, but I was appreciative of the characters and their accomplishments. It felt like I too was a part of the group; as if Clay, Hannah, Tony, Justin, Jessica, Alex, Tyler, Zach, Ani and even the side to Bryce that wanted to improve - were all my friends. The cast played through the journey elegantly, and everyone else behind the curtains did a great job as well.
