Love Zombies, love post apocalypse survival. Loved the Last of Us. LOVE the idea of Days Gone, but it is a little lackluster!
Scenery is awesome and believable.
Story, as it unfolds, is engaging and the desire to complete missions to learn more is compelling.
Just such a shame that the mechanics are so slow. Deacon isn't "fluid" you have to literally direct him or he'll swing his melee weapon in thin air rather than at the creature right in front of him. Even targeting a weapon, hand gun for example, can take precious time! I don't want an easy game, I just want my character to not be so cumbersome, especially in a survival game.
There is a lack of interaction when saving an hostage, you can not do anything until Deacon tells them where to go for safety.
I would have liked to be able to stop a worker getting a beating in a camp, I think it would add to the character they have attempted to create in Deacon
I'm pleased the boot knife doesn't break, maybe a sharpening skill could be added?. The other weapons break too easily (axe etc in mind)
All in all though, I really am pleased to have this game in my collection (Steel Book, collectors) I just wish it had been a little longer in the production to smooth out a few bits!
I hope there will be a second and it just gets better and better!!
