In my opinion, there were many references to the original movies (which is good) and the aspect of “it can’t be them it’s too obvious”, yet my friend and I watching it immediately said it was the boyfriend the second we saw him and Amber, and we were proven right in the end. We also thought that Dewey’s death was just not it, and were surprised when he was killed and then realising it was the girl? You’re telling me that he couldn’t fight off that teenage girl? And where was everyone in the hospital? Killing him off was the only bit I really thought was just upsetting as a horror fan.
Bit (very) confused on how Sam is Billy’s daughter and Randy being someone’s uncle, but did like how Mindy was a bit like Randy (tho sometimes it seemed like a forced character). Liked how she wasn’t killed as Randy wasn’t killed in the first movie. Was brilliant to see skeet be billy again tho. (Just read some reviews and glad to see even people who didn’t like the movie thought it was nice to see him even tho the moments were a bit random). The motive between the boyfriend and amber was just downright random but as a horror fan myself, I agree with the message behind it as nothing can beat the original. HOWEVER, they did slap us in the face by saying we will criticise anything and we’re “impossible” to impress.
Nice that Sidney is able to live a relatively normal life. Overall, nice movie but predictable because of how much it links to the original. The trailers before the movie were more scarier than the actual movie, though the gore was done quite nicely in my opinion, especially when Wes Hicks was stabbed through the side of the neck. Don’t really get why everyone noticed the swearing, I only took notice the first time they swore and then never noticed again, so I don’t see an issue with swearing. Could be an 18 just because of the blood and gore and swearing
