I truly believe that most fans of the first game will feel similarly to myself.
It's expertly crafted, expertly voice acted, expertly designed and implemented. Everything about the experience of actually playing the game was beyond my expectation of what a current generation game could deliver.
The story, although divisive, was fleshed out over the long running time with great care and attention, with numerous moments that made the player feel extreme emotion for the characters involved, even as we were told to withhold our understanding and expectations of those characters until the plot finally resolved.
So, disappointingly, when the plot finally does resolve itself into something that neither the player or our understanding of the character we've been playing for all these hours can clearly comprehend given all previous motivation and development involved, I was (and I assume, WE were) left wanting something so much more in line with my/our expectations of the characters involved and what we were led to believe.
I LOVED the 30 hours I put into this game, and sadly the last few minutes reduced my impression of it.
But this also says a lot to the power of the storytelling, it's meant to divide you.
