Very well done C-drama mystery/suspense. Although historical and wuxia, as with many other C-dramas, it didn't dwell on the in-fighting between evil stepmom and concubines, etc. trope which gets old after awhile. This series has a FL who is a forensic scientist, and 2 strong, very different ML who complete the love triangle. I did not find this drama boring one bit, and the character development was well done. I've watched way too many c-dramas over the past year due to Covid (plus: I've learned elementary Chinese and can say "Bijia" and "Wan sui wan sui wan wan sui" as good as the rest of 'em), and this is one of the better ones. I did not skip at all. For those of you new to C-dramas, if you like well-rounded action, romance, cinematography, CGI, and character development, I would suggest: Longest Day in Chang 'An, Joy of Life (my fave), GoodBye My Princess (not at all what the title sounds like), Ever Night 1 with Chen Feiyu, Love and Redemption (again, not what the title reads like), Ancient Detective (mystery, hotties, and surprise ending), and Rise of the Phoenixes. Last but not least, cult fave The Untamed.

Best Cdrama I have watched to date. Super high quality cinematography and CGI. Excellent acting, lead is superb--I've seen him in other dramas and he is always 100% in-role. I would say this is the equivalent of an adult-themed Harry Potter/ Indiana Jones series.
