This is one of those where you sympathize more with the bad guy than the main characters because they are so unbelievably stupid. Seriously, the single redeeming thing about this movie is that you get to see Yvonne Strahovski's beautiful face. That's it. There's nothing interesting, surprising, or engaging about this. I would rather watch The Wiggles Reunion.

This movie doesn't pretend to be anything it's not. It's exactly what it looks like, a super gory slasher flick with a sick clown and some common tropes. Honestly though, this was pretty enjoyable. The clown was well done, I think he's one of the coolest villains ever. This is a fun little film.

Whatever you want to say about the movie, here's an objective observation to consider: Everything that happens in this movie can be condensed into 10 minutes. Nuff said? If you want to really savor every scene (where nothing really happens) for minutes at a time, go for it.

You already know this movie is divisive, and it's a weird one. If you want to know whether you'll like this, just think of a mix between the theme and pace of Borgman, the story telling of The Lighthouse, and the uneasiness of Hereditary (to some extent).The plot had me hooked the whole time, the acting was amazing, and it was honestly a unique and quality film all around. I can understand why some people just won't like this but, like a good Scotch, this was complex and rich. It's all subjective, and this hit all the right spots for me.
