Alexander Chakshiri

Highly enjoyable and immersive drama. While in recent years view of the film have been critical of it's portrayal of Japanese characters as one-dimensional, I feel this impression is misguided. The film serves as an excellent introduction to a very tense and difficult period in Japanese culture, society, and government. Frankly, I consider it 'canon' when it comes to films meant to introduce audiences to this period of Japanese history. Simply not to be missed!
