Who remembers the silly split screen scenes in the movie "The Thomas Crown Affair"? The Flight Attendant brings back that affectation. It was annoying then (in 1999), it's annoying now. It's not creative, it's tired. Good camera work/directing should enhance the story not distract the viewer.
And then we get the no-warning jump cuts, which of course are startling. Why? Just to make your pulse go up for no particular reason at that moment in the story? It's simply lazy screenwriting, cheap shots. Might as well have someone in your living room pop a balloon when you're not looking. Or three.
One and done, watching this show.
