Just watched TTSS again. Beyond the superb story from Le Carre, the Script is gorgeous. Casting phenomenal - every actor delivers their role in spades. Directing wonderful. It's one of my very favourite movies. I love its reserve. Its restraint makes it for me. Such beautiful tension. Gary plays George with all those subtle characteristics. Pushing back the glasses; the mints; the held back voice. And that delivery: "I want to talk to you about loyalty, Toby". Then there's the atmospheric sets, lighting and music. I have the soundtrack on my playlist reminding me every time i hear one of those pieces of those fantastic scenes.
