When I watched the movie I realized that the reason or reasons as to why the pegasus, earth ponies, and unicorns was never fully explained which is actually a plot hole. What happened to the alicorns is not explained either. Nothing is really explained in detail as to how the series of my little pony friendship is magic relates to the movies story arc. This makes the plot of the movie confusing and would leave some people confused.
