If you like watching a vastly overrated actress, who can neither read music much less conduct properly, you'll love this convoluted mish-mash of a motion picture. Best watched with the mute button on.

I can't recommend this superb novel about two Navy aces who fall in love during WW II enough. Fred and Jack are living, breathing characters who leap from the pages. There is little in the way of sex in the text, but whatever there is happens to be indelible. A film adaptation would be most welcome. Five stars.

Herrmann's score for this film was commissioned for the badly edited, and butchered, English-language release. The soundtrack recording, released by Entr'acte Recording Society, is an audiophile block-buster pressed on high-quality virgin vinyl by Wakefield Manufacturing. I recently listened to the album with my Grado cartridge. All I can say is, the cartridge certainly got a work-out.

This is one boring tv series with little to offer it aside from the special effects. The cast are just about most uninteresting people imaginable. I'd be surprised if it lasted more than one season. I'll give it a miss. 2 out of 5.
