It was a great book, but it doesn't hold a candle to the first one. While the whole of the first one was super fun and got you going, the second book was hard to follow at some points. Most noticeably with the Prince shard and the Middle Earth shard. I was so confused with how they got in and how they got out without dying. The whole sonic weaponry with the 7 versions of Prince was super hard to follow for me. I also feel as though it got tuned down just slightly from the first book. READY PLAYER ONE was super edgy, while READY PLAYER TWO is slightly less. Though, the sequel does some things better that the original. The whole AI thing was mesmerizing, and it kept me on my toes. They did a much better job with Aech, and his character is 10 times better than the first book. Throughout both books, I wish that Shoto was developed further. He has always taken a back seat to Aech and Art3mis, and I feel he has so much more to offer. All in all, good but the original is much better.
