The first truly great superhero film. This is a great movie with a good score by John Williams. The opening credits which are just credits draws you in. Great ensemble cast, Marlon Brando as Jor El who Is only really in the film at the start but gives a captivating performance as his home planet Krypton is about to be destroyed. He sends his baby son to Earth in a kind of spaceship and we then follow his alter ego Clark Kent in his teen years in Smallville. Then after some training by a hologram of Jor El he moves to Metropolis as a reporter where he meets Lois Lane played by Margot Kidder. He then becomes Superman. Which annoys crimal mastermind Lex Luthor played excellently by Gene Hackman who must stop Superman before he can stop him. Ned Beatty is also great as Luthors bumbling assistant Otis.

Personally I just don't get it. Sorry I just think it's an overrated film. The bizarre sets make this feel more like a moving book than a movie and they are also distracting at times. The plot is ridiculous in my opinion. The evil Dr. Caligari turns up at a carnival with his star attraction a Somnambulist (It basically means sleepwalking) Who has been asleep for his whole life. Caligari has control over the Somnambulist and gets him to commit some murders. Credit has to go to the experimental directing style and the artistic sets.

The first benchmark in Epic Motion Picture. If you are reading this review you already must have some interest in early cinema and it's history so you had might as well watch it. Its accessible and there are many versions of the movie on YouTube. This has four stories interwoven from four different time periods. Ancient Babylon, Jesus leading up to the crucifixion, 16th Century France and the modern day (Well 1916). The four stories can start to clash in the first hour and it takes some time to identify the characters. This is an Epic film from all proportions and shows just what is possible. The Babylon sets are extremely impressive. All the stories start to climax at the same time which is another unique way of storytelling. This a must watch for anyone who considers themselves a true fan of Cinema.

Truly outstanding piece of work. This is David Lynch's most mainstream film but it still has many characteristics that can be found in his later films. The sound editing brings to life Victorian London and the black and white cinematography is also incredible. John Merrick played by John Hurt is a carnival freak attraction who comes into the care of Anthony Hopkins playing Dr. Treves who starts to question his own integrity as he feels that he too is exploiting Merrick's disfigurement for his own gain.

Absolute Camp nonsense. More Barbarella than Superman. Flash Gordon a quarterback With the New York Jets and Dale Arden a travel agent who just happens to be on his private plane crash into a mad scientists laboratory just as the earth is about to start to get destroyed by the evil Emperor Ming. Now Flash must unite the different cultures of the universe to take out Ming and save Earth. This is a thoroughly enjoyable movie complete with totally Over the top costumes and sets. This also features a great supporting cast including future James Bond, Timothy Dalton and Brian Blessed who somehow manages to out top all of the over the top happenings.

This is not bad. An untouched tribe discover a glass Coca Cola bottle that they believe was sent by the gods. The bottle starts to cause tension between the tribe because everyone wants it. They then decide that the bottle is evil and one tribesmen goes off on a quest to throw the bottle of the edge of the world. Most of the comedy relies on the naivety of the tribesmen as you would expect. The parts that are narrated as if it was a wildlife documentary add depth.
