I think people had an issue with these movies because they think it doesn't have the same scale or rather they don't feel the same as the do with the Lord of the rings, but it is still something that can be enjoyed. I remember my first viewing of this when I was a wide eyed eleven year old and I still feel connected to my inner child whenever I watch the goblin chase scene or listen to the Misty Mountain songs. This is a good movie and I highly recommend it for others to enjoy.
