A beautiful film. Dark, menacing and frankly disturbing. I found myself squirming with discomfort at the gravity of the content. The tension in the audience at certain points of the film were palpable. Phoenix has one of his best performances to date. There are moments of levity though - and occassional humor can be found in some of the scenes. But this is NO KIDS MOVIE. It has a few scenes of graphic violence, overt social commentary throughout and very dark psychological subject matter that may be too much for some viewers. The films ANTIHERO goes through a kind of metamorphosis that makes you question your own moral compass by empathisizing with him. I strongly recommend seeing this film and I also recommend a stiff cocktail afterwards. Send in the clowns...
