Solid acting and interesting premise but it failed to deliver a coherent storyline and satisfying conclusion. One of the main plot points (the mysterious box) is never fully explained which was odd. The filmmakers also chose not to explain the origins and influence of the mythological creature inside the box. These two glaring omissions made for a sometimes frustrating viewing experience.

Mindless violence wrapped in a completely unrealistic plot arrangement.

This movie felt shallow and unrealistic. It had an overall odd tone and left me asking too many questions after leaving many unanswered motives in its wake: 1. Why was Cassie so drawn to avenging Nina's death including putting her entire life on hold to do so? Didn't Nina's mom take care of her own daughter after her assault? 2. Why did Cassie have such a strained relationship with her parents? Why was her dad so underwhelmed by her disappearance after she'd gone missing? 3. Was Cassie part of a larger network of assault avengers whose mission in life was to "teach bad guys a lesson"? 4. Did Cassie ever face consequences after putting her own safety on the line multiple times during her encounters with random guys at clubs? Was Cassie indestructible or lucky up until her death? Too many unanswered questions remained for my liking.

Well acted and genuinely creepy. Impressed they were able to deliver effective scares on a small budget.
