Courtnay Micots

Did they think it was ironic to name the cook/housekeeper Mamie (mammy)? How about the minstrel number praising Lincoln? I know the movie dates to 1942, but I find those bits unpleasant to watch and fast forward through the horrible minstrel number. The rest of the film is nice, but it's not my favorite holiday film. I feel films with these scenes need a critical discussion, perhaps as a special feature or as an introduction before the film starts.
