I dis/like how the game is designed to be extremely difficult. Even if you're doing good, you're bound to run into bad luck, where there was nothing you could've done, but you've just lost all of your souls. Basically, if you don't have a gamer instinct, you'll be ripping your hair out and putting a Jihad on the gamemakers. I understand wanting to make a game that doesn't "baby" players, but inverting controls so every other game you've played in life counts against you and making player choose between sprinting (u have to run b.c walking is almost crawling) and being able to look around? Like why is being able to look where you're running offensive to them? You can do it in real life, so why... Its unfair to people with lives and can't dedicate hours and hours of learning the controls of a game that purposely changed that aspect to make things extra stupid. I used to be pretty into dark souls until that new Remnant game came out that I wanted to try..it took about 5 minutes to break the backwards gameplay from darksouls habit b.c their (remnant) gameplay setup was more logical to me. At least dodging is X and sprinting is L3. Anyways I just came back to dark souls And I'm back on square 1. I thought it was going to be refreshing but it's an actual nightmare. I'd forgotten how the game does everything in its computerized power to stop you from having a good time. Overall it's a great game but it's NOT fair, And I passionately hate the controls. It's cool to be different but at what cost? I'll tell you the cost! In spite of the extreme difficulty, it would've been in my top 3 favorite games. Top. Three. But I have to downgrade because of the controls. It just tips things over the edge into insanity. I'm still going to play but I won't be able to play any other games until I beat it, or until I lose it and just snap the DVD in half.
