Adolescence is aimed at the young generation and parents of today. This drama is a 4 part series which captivates emotion, heart and real life scenarios. I went through a series of emotions, as it felt like I was living the life with the family. The first part I felt huge sorrow for Jamie and his parents, I kept thinking he's just a kid. However, as the episode went on my opinions began to change. I could not believe what was shown on the CCTV footage, such confusion must have been felt by all viewers, especially parents. Second part was an accurate portrayal of what school life is like these days. It was no exaggeration, high schools are so challenging- as a student and as a teacher. It gave a great insight as to what today's generation is facing and how social media has a huge impact on social and emotional development. The third part referred to mental health, which showed a huge array of emotions coming from Jamie. The fourth part, completely heart breaking- the impact on family members, especially the father. We all do it as parents, we all think our children are at home, it's more dangerous on the streets, they are safe at home in their bedrooms. Gosh, this was a real eye opener. Children are no longer any safer at home than they are on the streets. And how quick society is to blame parents, and maybe there is an element of parental input. All the actors did a fantastic job as it's touched the heart of so many. A definite must watch, especially if you a parents of teenagers or a teenager yourself.

Don't watch this film if you have read the book, they have changed the story in some scenes and no where does this movie gives justice to the book. If only it could be remade with a larger budget....
