Superb acting by all. Matthew Broderick and Morgan Freeman shine in a beautifully photographed epic of men struggling to be free and will sacrifice all. The musical score is as powerful as the movie.

The songs are so heartfelt and intimate. I listened to it so often when I was a single Naval Officer at sea on an old destroyer. Other than Gordon Lightfoot I can't think of many better songwriters and singers. Wish I could have met Carly Simon to tell her how much her songs meant. And in the 2000's I played No Secrets again in the car. Just as great as 30 years ago.

Perhaps the greatest book I ever read. I sent it to many people and they read it many times, it was that great. It is a multi-faceted story about love, for culture, love for a woman, love for a master and love for an ideal. One character, Dienekes, constantly ponders what is the antithesis of fear. He discovers it at the end. In the second Pelopenessian War, Greece was lucky to have a few leaders who understood strategic planning and men that were brave beyond belief in hand to hand fighting. A story of multi-faceted love and devotion, sadness and redemption.

Under Jane Pauley the show has sadly become a bit dull and political. No surprise since her husband is the leftist cartoonist of "Doonesbury" . Mo Rocca is always interesting. Miss the previous hosts who kept it as an entertainment news hour. It used to be such a pleasure on a Sunday morning.

Paul Scofield in A Man for All Seasons is one of the most brilliant actors of our time. I have seen this in a play and in a movie. Robert Bolt is a genius and the movie is cinematic beauty. He also did Lawrence of Arabia. The question is how far will a man go to stand for his principles? Do you bend to authority or stand up for what you believe even if it cost your life?

This is a very interesting and engrossing movie. The racing scenes are dramatic and the evolution of the Ford G40 racing car through one engineering disaster to another is fascinating. It shows the mortal dangers of Formula One racing, a sport or profession that few can aspire to, highly skilled men with icewater in their veins. The continual trip hammer beat in the music, reminiscent of "Dunkirk", keeps one on the edge of ones seat. A pyschological trick that succeeds.The dynamic between Matt Damon and Christian Slater as Davids battling the Ford Goliath bureaucrats sets up tension, whether really true or not. Although not an avid racing fan, I truly enjoyed the film and would see it again.

We watched this film in the Syracuse U. MBA program as an example of leadership in 1968-69. Based on the 100th BG. You can do it, be successful, but nobody will like you, except for a few people who know what you are doing. Probably wouldn't fit in today's PC world. Just a great movie, stellar acting and the opening scene flashback is so dramatic and haunting.

Beautifully photographed. Wonderfully acted. A superb film. The opening sequence is the best of any movie. Is it one man chasing another, or is it two men chasing a third? And then it is revealed they are all three chasing a deer. The music and photography though out the movie are exceptional. Only the first 30 minutes of Saving Private Ryan is better.
